NETORASERARE CHAPTER 27 UPDATE (I'm not dead.)

***11/21/2016 UPDATE***

Typesetting is 100% done.
Sent it over to K-Slice to review.
We might see a release later tonight so stay tuned!

***11/20/2016 UPDATE***

I always tend to find parts of the translation to improve when the translation is being finalized.
Any how, the translation has been finalized.
So far 36% (first 8 pages) have been typeset.
(Lots of SFXs to type but I think it'll be worth it.)
After I'm done I'll have K-Slice review it for grammar and quality.

Here's a preview:
(Subject to change.)

***ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT***

It's been a while guys...

I know I haven't kept my promise of releasing the last chapter in a timely manner.
I know the readers have been really looking forward to it.
I see that the omake chapter was released by Seinen Scans; bless his heart.

I want to let you guys know that I haven't had the time to focus on it when I got back from Japan.
It's been a mess for me in many ways that it didn't allow me to focus on the last chapter.
This also has brought to my attention how I might have to stop doing scanlations for a while until I can make time for it.

With that said I will say I need to take a break from this hobby but I will do the last chapter and I'll have it out before the end of November.
Even K-Slice keeps reminding me that it needs to be done.
So if time permits, I'll start it on 11/20 (Sunday).  I just need to add Sand's corrections and start typesetting with K-Slice.
I've already have the pages and panels prepped for typesetting.

Thank you so much for putting up with me.  I honestly feel bad I left the readers hanging.
Please stay tuned.

NETORASERARE CHAPTER 27- THE LAST CHAPTER: FROM NOW ON - UPDATE

***07/29/2016 UPDATE***

Hey guys,

As I mentioned in the thread, I did go over what Sands reviewed and I set him
some feedback and added his fixes to the translation rough draft.
It's still only half way done but pretty much all of the wordy pages are done with.

As far as the raws go, my idea of taking pics with my camera was not working out.
Basically sections of the pages go out of focus and the lighting is not consistent.
This is due to how the staple spine curves the pages when it's opened.
I don't have a scanner or access to one here in Japan so I will use Cino's scans
but I will adjust them to make them look as good as I can.

Anyways, Konomi's omake came out as you guys know:
Let's NETORASERARE!

Though it is brutal, I made the best I can taking pics of the pages
with my camera and ironing them out in PS.

Here's the DIRECT LINK to it (raw).

Enjoy guys.

***07/15/2016 UPDATE FROM JAPAN***

The translation rough draft is COMPLETE.
I've sent it over to Sands for review.

***07/14/2016 UPDATE FROM JAPAN***

Hello gents.
Many apologies for not getting this out quick.  I'd like to see this out ASAP myself.
Been busy and roaming around without my laptop (let alone no WIFI) for most of the time.
I was also under the weather but I feel much better now.
Sands did message me about the update and right now I will finish the rest of the chapter and
e-mail it to him to go over before I hit the Yokohama hay (it's around 9:45pm).

So far Japan has been positive experience and the locals haven't been
too afraid of me when I approach them with questions about getting around.
I've yet to get on the wrong bus, train, or have a bad meal.

As for the September issue of Namaiki!, I WILL pick it up as soon as it's available in Akihabara and
I'll upload pics of the 10 page omake Konomi is doing.
The next issue has a street date of 07/26/2016 (Tuesday) listed.

***07/06/2016 UPDATE FROM YOKOHAMA JAPAN***

Hey guys!
After a long plane ride, me and K-Slice landed safe and sound at Haneda Airport
late Monday night around 10pm (Tokyo Time).

Today I went to Akihabara and it was pretty amazing to see it a live in person.

After a lot of digging around I finally find the August issue of Namaiki.
A lot of these places forbid taking pictures inside of the shop and of the merchandise;
especially for adult themed sections. There's signs everywhere about it.
Even on the maids handing flyers outside but that's an entirely different beast.
So I was careful to not get caught because I didn't to hurt the image of foreigners in Japan.

Here it is in my hands.

I'll take pics of the chapter later.
I still haven't finished up on the translation rough draft.
Me and K-Slice are on vacation so this unfortunately will have to be on the back burner.
I will work on it late at night when I have nothing to do.
I'll try very hard to get this to Sands because I'll be in Kyoto Saturday and Sunday getting cultured.

Here are are two more pics I quickly took if you're interested:

Those curious about my haul, here's what I got:

When I saw this package I just had to have it. It's "Otaku" Manjuu.
I actually asked the clerk in Japanese if it was okay to take photos inside; it helped.

The back.

I wanted this but refrained from getting it.

A h-manga I really enjoyed.
Hinata kinda had a dumb fear of her darker sexuality but I can see past it.

Didn't know what this was from (or if it was an original).
It was a rabbit themed tea cup I had to have.  Price was under 500 yen.

The back.

I like to collect actual useful memorabilia like anime themed towels, cups, and plates.

 The back.

I don't drink... at all but I love Maison Ikkoku so I picked this up for under 700 yen.

Came with it's own little sake cup.

No idea what this was but I like attaching straps like this to my flash drives that have the loop for it.

Didn't mean to spend on all this but I'm going to punish myself with eating Onigiri for the next few days to offset the cost.
I'm seeing how far I can stretch my yen here and the legends of Japanese convenience stores are true.
They have very cheap meals that are very good and filling.

What I had the first night:

The ramen I had today in Akihabara owned.

Bonus, my waifu.

***07/02/2016 UPDATE***

I didn't get to fully transcribe it last night (I fell into the trap of translating as I go).
So far the translation rough draft is 55% done (first 12 pages are fully translated).

For pages 13 to 22 I'll just transcribe so I can work on it later.
It's a challenging chapter for me to do but it's coming along guys so please hang tight.

***ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT***

Hello gents!

So the last chapter is out on e-hentai thanks to Cino.

Thanks for sharing Cino, it's greatly appreciated!
I was hoping this'll get posted before I fly out.
I wanted to see with my own eyes how this ended before some untimely event ended me.
(A little morbid, I know.)

I have tons of loose ends to tie up before I fly out this Sunday.
I'll try to at least transcribe the whole chapter tonight and by noontime Saturday I'll start translating this.
Maybe start the translation tonight if I have time.
There's a bit of dialogue in this chapter and I'll need to have my dictionaries and resources with me
to get the translation rough draft done.
I could maybe work on this on my way to the airport and during my 14hrs +/- flight.
I'll have to print out the transcript or something.

Anyways, it's been a fun ride regardless how this ended.
I've never seen a h-manga make so many people rage or actually take part in deep discussions about:
the characters, analysis were the relationship went wrong, and the plot (or lack of).
I've particularly enjoyed ride even though many of us wanted off the train.

I've learned a lot about making scanlations with the help and suggestions from you guys, the readers.
I'd also like to thank Sands for this help with the translation.
Though he didn't have to, he's really helped me in the background and
helped make the ENG release a high quality one.

THANK YOU SANDS!

I don't plan on quitting what I do just yet.
I do want to finish up on "Ayamachi, Hajimemashite" and I'll see what the future brings.
I'll have to study up and focus on my Japanese self studies in my endeavor to become fluent.
I once I'm good enough when I only have to refer to my dictionaries/resources like, I dunno,
fives or less, then maybe then I'll start doing commissions on my own.

Now... since I probably won't have access to a scanner.
I'll have to "scan" this chapter with my camera.
It's a decent one, a Sony NEX-5T.  I can make it look pretty good I think.
I'll have to use that for the release unless someone donates a HQ scan of it.
I know this sounds bootleg, but that's the only option we here have.
K-Slice would have to scan it once he goes back to the states.
He's gonna need some rest but maybe he could do the scanning on the 4th weekend of July.

HARUKA'S ANUS

I never noticed this before.
I was combing through Konomi's blog for any updates on chapter 27.

It was when I was going through the older posts I saw something that wasn't
featured in the Namaiki release of chapter 6: Haruka's anus.

Here's the original first page.  No anus (white light censored).

From Konomi's blog.
Anus.

Thought I pointed it out.

NAMAIKI! JULY 2016 ISSUE UPDATE & NETORASERARE

***06/12/2016 UPDATE***

Okay guys,
Sorry for the delay.
Chapter 26 will be up today before late afternoon.
Just hang tight.

***06/08/2016 UPDATE***

Though the translation isn't 100% finalized,
I did typeset the chapter with how it is now.
Still need to finesse the typesetting and do some additional clean up.
As soon as the translation is finalized,
I'll do any needed alterations/fixes and it'll be posted.
Anytime this week it should be out guys!

***06/07/2016 UPDATE***

The chapter is fully scanned and I'm working on the adjustments.
Though not much dialogue is in the first 10 pages but the translation has been finalized up to there.
Sands' wasn't going to be able to look at it until the weekend but looks like he made some time.
Much appreciation for him all over.
My goal is to have the pages all prepped and ready for typsetting tonight.
I might typeset a couple before it's Zzzzz time.
We're going make sure we release a high quality version for you guys to read
Just please hang tight.

***06/06/2016 UPDATE***

Order finally came in, will start scanning later tonight.

***06/02/2016 UPDATE***

The translation rough draft is 100% complete and it was sent to Sands to go over.
The order is taking some time because we here placed an order for a good couple of books.
I'll consider doing a LQ release with Cino's raws for now but I'll clean them up.

So far, things are looking bitter sweet.

***ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT***

Here's the cover of the Namaiki! July 2016 issue.

Hey there guys,

The Miku concert with Anamanaguchi was pretty cool, it was loud as fuck though.
Took about 3 days for my hearing to get back to normal.

Anyways...

On searching for an update for the Namaiki! July issue (street date 05/26/2016 in Japan and will order soon),
I looked at the old chapters we did and I realized I read chapters 22’s title wrong.
I read it as “soutei” (そうてい) instead of “zoutei” (ぞうてい) and that changes the title to “The Gift”.  Sorry, my bad.
I’m surprised it was never caught.
I went ahead and fixed this error and the download link and link to e-hentai will show this correction for chapter 22;
I can’t speak for the reposts of this chapter out there.  All I can tell you readers is that you’ll always find the updated/corrected version here.

While on the subject, I have been reviewing and learning more Japanese grammar with Tae Kim’s Japanese Grammar Guide
which is a great human level method of understanding and applying Japanese grammar.
When I went over the usage of “bakkari”, it made me think about when Haruka used this grammar in chapter 20
so I went back and read on the JPN version of Neto and I realized how I also read this page wrong.

Mostly due to the fact there’s no dialog bubble tails to point out who’s talking.
However, if I was paying more attention to the Japanese text and how it was written
I would have noticed both Shuu and Haruka were both talking to each other.

Although how the translation was written still flows fine, I feel that I took a little too much liberty on this page.

Here’s how I thought it read:

Haruka: Shuu-chan…

Haruka: jibun no koto bakkari…

Haruka: …gomen

Haruka: watashi… Shuu-chan no koto utagatteta…

Haruka: ima mo mada…

Haruka: soredemo ii n da………

Haruka: ………

Haruka: shinjite… ii no?

(Shuujirou then nods yes.)

This is how I think this page reads now:

Haruka: Shuu-chan…

Shuujirou: jibun no koto bakkari…

Shuujirou: …gomen

Haruka: watashi… Shuu-chan no koto utagatteta…

Shuujirou: ima mo mada…

Shuujirou: soredemo ii n da………

Haruka: ………

Haruka: shinjite… ii no?

(Shuu then nods yes.)

One of the challenges for me as a novice translator is that I need to get used to the fact
of how in Japanese, once a topic is introduced,
mentioning it over, and over, and over again is not done how it can be in English.
Therefore once a topic is introduced and it’s “obvious” who’s being talked to in conversations
(or text) – the topic (whatever it may be), nouns, and pronouns can be omitted.
I’m just far to used to being specific in how I speak, read, and write.
Although I create Japanese sentences that are specifics and grammatically correct,
I need to remember this is just not how conversational Japanese is.

With all that in mind, the main issue I have on this page is this line:

自分のことばっかり。。。
。。。ごめん。

Literally:
About (concerning) myself/oneself just/only…
…sorry.

Now… with some context and his long explanation as to why Shuujirou had Haruka
sleeping around in the first place, adding to that line with what I think could have been omitted
(because it’s “obvious”) that line could have been for example:

自分のことばっかりで情けなくなるよ、ごめん。
Jibun no koto bakkari de nasakenaku naru yo , gomen.

So it could be translated as:

…sorry.
[For] how (selfish) I am.
(the ordering is swamped to make it make sense and sound natural in English).

OR another take would be something like this:

…sorry.
[for] just (thinking about) myself.

Both versions would still convey that Shuujirou is apologizing for all he’s put Haruka through for his gratification at her expense.

In either case, it’s okay to use context to help smooth out a translation.
Literal translations just doesn’t work a majority of the time due to how different languages can be.

How I’d now translate this page:

Haruka: Shuu-chan…
Shuu-chan…

Shuujirou: jibun no koto bakkari… gomen
…sorry.
 for just thinking about myself.

(I’d have to play with how  to fit/break this apart to make it fit into the text bubbles; I’m not a big fan of altering text bubbles even thought I know it’s acceptable in scanlations.)

Haruka: watashi… Shuu-chan no koto utagatteta…
I… had my doubts about you Shuu-chan…

Shuujirou: ima mo mada…
Even up to now…

Shuujirou: soredemo ii n da………
it’s still alright…

Haruka: ………

Haruka: shinjite… ii no?
Can I believe… you?

(Shuu then nods yes.)

Damn, now looking at this page again, I think Haruka is is the only one speaking.
This is so irritating...

In any case, I think how the "bakkari" line was translated "I'm sorry for everything... I did."
Should be "...sorry.  For  just thinking about myself."

NETORASERARE - CHAPTER 25 - COLLAPSE

Okay guys, the wait is over!

Made some changes to the fonts we normally use and the typesetting.
We hope you like them.

Here's the direct link:

You can also grab it here:

You can always find our releases on our DOWNLOADS page.
Check out this chapter's folder. (。-‿ ◕。)

Take your time reading and enjoy!

(Did fix the typos and the thought bubble on page 17,
however overlooked the tearing on the top left of page 20.  Oh well...)

Man, it never ends.  Okay, fixed some more typos and I realized page 6's
(Haruka being dragged away) white/black levels was not corrected.  Fixed that and the tear on page 20.

I've retro the direct link and link to e-hentai to reflect these fixes.

Gomen ne.
